Extreme Makeover: Victorian

The blue-trimmed Victorian-style home with its porch and white picket fence with a little front yard fits right in with the neighborhood in Springfield. To tell the story of this family Kim Lewis drew in the sunburst design at the top of the second story to represent Walker’s late son, Carl Joseph Walker-Hoover.
We designed the house without a third floor because it had been the place in the old house where Walker’s 11 year-old son took his own life in April 2009 after repeated school bullying.
“There are so many things that we love about the house but to look out and see the three sunbursts that are symbolic of everything we’ve been through and how Carl is watching over us – it’s just beautiful,” Walker said.
