I was born and raised on the Texas Gulf Coast minutes from Matagorda Bay, and lived there most of my life. Once I was old enough to enter the workforce, I worked with my father in his structural steel company, finding I had a strong fascination in the way things were put together, how materials connected, and just loved seeing the buildings come to life. I went on to attend the University of Houston College of Architecture, graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design. After college, I escaped the heat and humidity, trading it for the bitter cold and snow of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri where I attend Basic Combat Training for the US Army, coming back to work with the National Guard’s 149th Aviation Regiment at Ellington Field in Houston. Eventually, I found my way to Austin.
Since moving to Austin in 2006, I have had the privilege of working with quite a few inspiring Architects on many amazing projects including High Tech, Restaurant, Residential, Corporate Interiors and Municipal work.
I thrive on diversity. Every day is a new challenge, a new project and a new solution to find. This (and an insane amount of coffee) makes my clock tick. I love a good challenge.
When I take time for myself, I enjoy hanging out with my husband and daughter and our 2 rescue pups BBQing in the backyard, gardening, camping and kayaking. My favorite camping spots are the ones that have no cell service. This really helps my family disconnect from everyday life and enjoy nature, even for just a few days.
